We provide different solutions for home or business decor to our customers. With over 20 years of experience we provide services from the repair and cleaning of window and flooring products, to the sale of window covering, flooring and countertops.

Can you briefly explain the main differences between shutters, shades and blinds?

Shutters are a hard treatment that adds a simple yet sleek look to a customers home as well as providing significant light control. Shades give many options for those looking to decorate their home since there are a myriad number of fabrics and options available for shades. Blinds are the most ergonomic or the three if what the customer is looking for is being able to have greater control of the amount entering a room since they can be raised or lowered and tilted as well.

How do people usually decide which one is right for a particular room in their home?

It depends on the effect that a person usually wants to create in a room. For example, customers usually do not choose shades for the kitchen or bathroom because they worry about the fabric getting dirty, instead they would choose a blind or shutter. If the customer wishes to have a treatment that will match the upholstery in their living room they would choose a shade.

What are some of the most popular styles of window coverings in Southern California homes?

The most popular window treatment in Southern California is the 2" faux wood blind. They are easy to operate and clean, as well as customizable and affordable.

What are a few of the most common questions (and answers) that people ask you about window coverings?

Customers tend to ask about the best option for the room they are covering. A room with a lot of traffic, such as a playroom, may not be the best for a fabric shade but would be ideal for a den or living room. They also ask about insulation for the southern California summers; cellular shades tend to be the best at keeping the cool temperatures in during the summer and the cold temperatures out for winter. Light control is also another common question. Some customers want to block out the greatest amount of light possible and the solution to that is a cellular blackout shade.

Do you have any advice on maintenance for shutters, shades and blinds?

How often should they be cleaned? Blinds should be cleaned every 6 months or sooner depending on how dusty the area the customer lives in is in order to keep the mechasixism running smoothly and prolong the life of the blinds. Allergies can also be a factor in how often window treatments are cleaned. Our ultrasonic machine cleans the mechanisms of blinds and shades entirely in order to keep them running smoothly. Shutters are usually cleaned by hands and are the least demanding in terms of upkeep.
