Music Phreek Gets the Party Started in Chula Vista

By Paul Rowe

Vynce Pham's company Music Phreek has been rocking the Southwestern U.S. for a quarter of a century. Vynce has had the honor to perform at countless wedding receptions, school dances, corporate events, theme parties, and much more.

In the beginning, Vynce Pham didn't dream of owning a company this unified, successful, and widely popular. Vynce seems to have stumbled upon his burgeoning career entirely by chance.

"I was a 'garage DJ', which is basically an amateur DJ. One of my friends was getting married and I thought it'd be fun to try it out," Vynce said. "It turns out, it was a blast, and very successful: a few other couples who happened to be at that first wedding were getting married, and they asked me to DJ for them."

Vynce is passionate about spinning old school hip-hop and R&B (circa 1990-2005). These tracks bring out the audience's spirit of nostalgia, and they never fail to get the crowd on its feet and on the dance floor. No matter the age bracket, these tracks bang just as hard as they did at early 90s block parties.

"For a 'go to' song, it's a toss up between This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan and No Diggity by Blackstreet," Vynce said. "Either one is a crowd pleaser!"

In this age of throwbacks, songs like "This Is How We Do It" are coming back in high demand. Montell Jordan's track is a key representative of the hip-hop genre of the mid-90s. In 1995, the popular party track peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks. Nowadays, music fans crave the purity and authenticity of this earlier age of soulful hip-hop. With countless classic tracks like this one at their disposal, Music Phreek is fully equipped to get the party started like it's 1995.

Music Phreek's state-of-the-art equipment ranges from Numark CD players, mixers, and Virtual Vinyl software with an endless selection of artists, all the way down to QSC, Alto Black and Bose speakers, and HD LED projectors of all hues. With cutting-edge dance lights, spotlights, fog machines, bubble machines, and laser effects, the atmosphere provided can't be matched.

"I firmly believe in under promising and over delivering to my clients no matter the type, size, or location of the event," Vynce said. "They will always get a fun party atmosphere from us."
