Taking Back California: Abolish Pest Control

By Elisha Neubauer

If there's one thing California is known for, it's the weather. That spectacular temperature and welcoming climate screams "come live here" to anyone who cares to listen. Of course, it's not just movie stars, tech companies, and surfers who respond to the beckoning. California plays home to all sorts of pests such as killer bees, ants, earwigs, black widows, water beetles, and more. Rodents, like skunks and raccoons, as well as several species of pesky birds also call California home-sweet-home.

"Pest control is a serious business," says Kira, HR Supervisor of Abolish Pest Control in Simi Valley, California. "We have a large number of mice and rat problems that we take care of in the Simi Valley area. Other known pests to the area are snakes, bats, bees, pigeons, swallows, raccoons, and more." Bird control seems to be of increasing concern over the last few years. Affecting schools, homes, and businesses, several different species have been causing damage to buildings and properties, as well as adding health risks for the occupants.

Of course, insects are still the most common problem, Kira tells us, but the assortment of calls placed to Abolish Pest Control on a daily basis varies drastically.

So how does a company like Abolish handle the wide variety of calls?

"We have specialized technicians in each field that can tackle any pest problem that you may run into," Kira explains. Their main office is located directly in the Simi Valley area, allowing them to deal with most pest control problems within 24-hours - a much needed comfort for some of their clients.

Family owned and operated, Abolish seems to take great pride in being the go-to solution to your pest control issues. This includes ensuring that all trapping is done humanely, utilizing a catch and release program. After the animal is removed to a more suitable location, Abolish focuses on the prevention of reoccurrences.

If you live in California, you will inevitably face a pest control problem at one time or another. It's a fair trade-off for living in one of the most fair-weather states in the US. While pests can be a troubling thought, they can be managed. We suspect it'll be easiest if you hire a professional.
